A new festival that gives people the chance to meet some of the world’s biggest Internet stars is launching across five stages at The O2 in London before it rolls out around the globe.

Skip Festival, in partnership with production company Endemol Shine, and its digital creative agency, ChannelFlip, have teamed up with The O2, to bring the biggest bloggers and vloggers from online to onstage.

Some of the most successful names from the Internet worlds of fashion, beauty, comedy and music will appear on stages across The O2 campus including the Brooklyn Bowl, Building Six and indigo on September 26and 27, 2015 in the biggest gathering of its kind in Europe. The festival will then appear in Dubai, Berlin, Shanghai and Jakarta.

JD O’Lone, director, Skip Festival, director: “As little as five years ago people queued to get a picture with their favourite footballer, singer or actor, but now there is a whole new level of celebrity as youngsters connect with the people they have grown up with on the Internet. Skip allows people to meet all their most loved bloggers and vloggers in person. This is fame in the 21st century.”

Added Elly Garrod, talent director, ChannelFlip: “The type of event we are planning is more akin to a festival than some of the conference formats we have seen in the US. We are really excited to be able to create an environment where fans and creators can celebrate the world of online content together.”

Continued Rebecca Kane Burton, general manager of The O2: “Here at The O2, we’re big fans of the blogger and vlogger community and understand the huge reach and impact these creators have. We’re all excited to play host to the very first Skip in September and know its festival vibe, spread across five stages at the venue, will be a hit with fans.

“The combined reach of the Internet stars attending is phenomenal and we look forward to welcoming them, the fans and their millions of followers worldwide to our venue.”
