The MJR Group, the global event promoter and venue operator, has revealed plans for a new Birmingham venue, The Mill, after the successful inaugural event at Digbeth Arena.
Following the success of Digbeth Arena’s inaugural event under its new ownership, The MJR Group has unveiled plans for a new additional Birmingham venue. The Mill, located on Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth, is set to open in Autumn 2018 with a range of live music and DJ-led events.
The Mill will be a new live music, bar and event venue offering a large warehouse space, a mezzanine level and an open-top roof garden, situated against the Victorian railway arches. The multi-purpose space will open its doors in September with the event programme to be announced in the coming weeks.
The MJR Group intends to “invest significantly into the infrastructure of the venue, to provide a range of live music and DJ-led talent at the premises”. The venue has won support from local authorities after The MJR Group held a number of engaging meetings with the West Midlands Police, fire services, environmental health officers, local residents and the licensing authority.
Benjamin Newby, operations director at The MJR Group, commented: “Live music venues are the lifeblood of our music scene and we wanted to create an environment where both live bands and DJs will want to play in. The welcome support we have had from surrounding businesses, which are producing excellent entertainment, creative and hospitality experiences, has been tremendous.
“Digbeth is one of the most unique and vibrant creative-quarters in the U.K. and The MJR Group looks forward to bringing varied concerts and events to the city for everyone.”
