Stand Out magazine is launching the Power Guide, a comprehensive guide to procuring and specifying temporary event power for live events – in association with Powerful Thinking, the industry think-tank.

The new guide will advise event and festival organisers on how to secure the right type of power for their event, as well as feature advice and guidance on fuel, generators, accurate monitoring and analysis of event data.

Stand Out magazine, which also publishes the Temporary Structures Guide, has responded to the needs of the industry for a comprehensive and practical guide to the minefield that is event power. By working with Chris Johnson and Powerful Thinking, the guide will draw on resources available to event organisers wishing to secure sustainable power for their event.

Neil Fagg, publisher of Stand Out magazine, commented: “The Temporary Structures Guide has always been warmly received by the industry. Since its launch eight years ago, it has served a real need for guidance that is both practical and informed.

“There was a similar call for the Power Guide. Securing the right type of sustainable power for a live event or festival is crucial in 2019, especially with new legislation affecting the industry.

“I’m confident that the Power Guide will not only serve the needs of the industry, but also inform us all on how we can change our practices to ensure sustainability is a key consideration moving forward. It’s fantastic to join forces with Powerful Thinking, which is leading the way in this field.”

Chris Johnson, co-founder and chair of Powerful Thinking, added: “We’re really happy to be partnering with Stand Out on its Power Guide, to profile sustainable suppliers and signpost to the plethora of free-to-access resources available to support organisers to manage power more sustainably.”
