Showforce, the event support company, has recently opened an office in Coventry’s city centre.

The new office will provide production and technical personnel, corporate event crew, stage and production crew, general and site crew and plant operators, along with its crew man and van service.

Headed up by Showforce’s former Middle East operations manager, Michael Boylan, following his return to the UK, the Coventry office has recruited large numbers of crew locally who are already working regularly at venues throughout the city and nearby Birmingham, along with other venues based in the Midlands. The office will deal with all enquiries and bookings along with recruitment, training and accreditation.

Chris Martelly, operations director at Showforce, commented: “Agencies, suppliers and venues in the region were regularly mentioning that they were struggling to find hard working crew with the necessary training and skillsets in the region. It was clear that there was a gap in the Midlands for a reputable crewing company with a strong back office operation and highly skilled crew.

Michael is from Coventry originally and he has an excellent knowledge of the event market in the area. This coupled with his Showforce background will stand him in good stead for heading up the new office.”

Showforce’s new location and fleet of vehicles will allow the team to service clients’ needs across the Midlands region. Recent venues the Showforce crew have been in action at include Ricoh Arena, NEC, ICC, Telford International Convention Centre, Resorts World Arena, King Power Stadium and Stoneleigh Park.
