The Science Museum in South Kensington has revealed a first-look video giving a preview of its new events space, Illuminate, which is due to open early 2019.

The venue has also announced the caterer for the new space, Moving Venue. The Science Museum and Moving Venue collaboration will see event bookers receive a bespoke offering that is fit-for-purpose in the new space.

Exclusive partnerships such as these with Moving Venue and White Light – the assigned AV partner – will bring the venue, catering and AV elements together in streamlined event packages.

Ben Lheureux, head of catering and events at the Science Museum Group, commented: “We are excited for Moving Venue to bring a unique catering offering to our clients who book Illuminate for their events. With Illuminate set to create waves in the industry, it was vital that we selected experienced partners, and the flair and creativity of Moving Venue will allow us to push the boundaries when it comes to producing creative, interactive and memorable events.”

Chloe Martin, sales and marketing director at Moving Venue, added: “Our history catering at the Museum goes back over two decades, which only makes the opportunity to partner with the team on Illuminate even more of a landmark win. From the moment we saw the plans, we knew this would become one of London’s hottest event spaces in 2019 and beyond. Combining operational excellence and innovative menus, we can ensure guests are offered a first class experience from start to finish.”

Illuminate is situated on levels four and five of the Science Museum and will be available for both daytime and evening hire for capacities of up to 400 for dinners and conferences and 450 for receptions. The new space has a panoramic window on level five offering views of the city and an abundance of natural daylight.
