The Ricoh Arena has welcomed the government’s announcement that conferencing and exhibition facilities can provisionally re-open in October – and is ready to host visitors once more.
Demand from event organisers for future bookings has remained extremely strong over the last few months, and Wasps Group chief executive Stephen Vaughan says the venue’s conferencing and exhibition facilities is ready to open its doors.
“A huge amount of hard work has been going on behind the scenes so that once the government did announce a re-opening date for the events industry, we were ready to hit the ground running,” said Vaughan.
“The safety of our visitors and staff is of paramount importance to us and we understand the government’s approach to easing the lockdown, and as such, we have robust plans in place to allow us to re-open safely.
“This includes us implementing a five-point commitment to reassure event organisers and visitors while they are with us, highlighting in detail the approach we are taking with social distancing in larger and smaller spaces, through to our cleaning protocols and contactless payment.
“We are looking forward to re-opening, and will continue working closely with various event organisers and their suppliers to prepare for the return of their events.
“Ricoh Arena prides itself on the adaptability of both its facilities and events team, and we are all ready to rise to the challenge of helping the events sector to get back on its feet so it can do what it does best – helping industries to connect, debate and do business.”
