The organiser of Blackpool Air Show has cancelled the first day of the event, due to extreme weather conditions.
The event is due to take place at Blackpool Promenade this weekend, August 10-11, but will only be going ahead on the Sunday.
This year’s event had planned to showcase military and civilian aircraft from around the world over two days.
A statement published on VisitBlackpool‘s website and social media confirmed the cancellation.
A spokesperson for VisitBlackpool, said: “We regret that due to a forecast of extreme weather conditions on Saturday afternoon, the first day of the Blackpool Air Show has been cancelled.
“The second day will go ahead on Sunday with as full a programme as possible, with a 1.30pm start on the Tower Festival Headland.”
