Brighton and Hove City Council has signed off Grounded Events Company‘s proposal for a new cycling event, BM Ride, at the Brighton Marathon Weekend next April.

This mass participation bike ride will be the first ever Brighton-based, city-centre ride on closed roads. A maximum of 1000 public places will be available when entries go on sale.

There will also be a number of charities holding places in the event, such as Cancer Research UK and Macmillan. Grounded Events is looking to use the event to bolster fundraising opportunities for the wide range of both local and national charities who are involved in its events, as well as bringing more visitors to the city over Brighton Marathon Weekend.

The course will see participants starting on Hove Lawns and passing through the city centre before riding out to Ovingdean and back.
