Anil Aggarwal (pictured) and Jonathan Weiner, serial tech entrepreneurs, are set to shake up the European retail and ecommerce marketplace with the launch of Shoptalk Europe, an industry event that will take place between October 9-11, 2017 in Copenhagen.
Similar to its US counterpart, which launched in the US in 2016 with more than 3,100 attendees, including almost 400 CEOs, Shoptalk Europe focuses on the rapid evolution of how consumers discover, shop and buy.
“The overwhelmingly positive industry-wide reception we continue to receive for Shoptalk demonstrates the demand for an event that brings together the entire commerce ecosystem and resets the conversation to focus on the rapid evolution of today’s consumers,” said Aggarwal, Shoptalk’s founder and chairman.
Shoptalk brings together leaders from established retailers and brands, disruptive startups, leading tech and Internet companies, prolific venture capital investors and other key stakeholders.
More than 2,000 attendees, including over 250 speakers and 200 CEOs, are expected at Shoptalk Europe’s inaugural three-day event, which will provide an unprecedented platform for the attendees to learn, network, collaborate and evolve.
Attendees will range from local and global leaders and startups to high growth companies looking to enter and scale in the European marketplace.
“We are excited to launch Shoptalk Europe in Copenhagen, which is currently one of Europe’s hottest destinations,” said Aggarwal. “Copenhagen and the Bella Center offer the perfect location for Shoptalk Europe, and provide a convenient environment for learning and collaboration. Copenhagen is an easily accessible city and the Bella Center is located less than 10 minutes from the airport.”
Katy Fryatt, who previously launched Money20/20 Europe, which became the region’s largest FinTech and payments event in just its first year, has been appointed to oversee the rollout of Shoptalk Europe over the coming several months.
Aggarwal and Weiner sold their latest tech startup to Google in 2012 and also founded Money20/20, the world’s largest consumer payments event, which was acquired by Ascential plc in 2014.
