The inaugural EVCOM Industry Awards took place at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel, London on November 17. Four hundred guests gathered to celebrate excellence in the communication disciplines with the ceremony recognising the best-of-the-best in screen, live and digital projects from amongst previous gold winners of the EVCOM Live Awards, the EVCOM Screen Awards and the EVCOM Clarion Awards.
ITV anchor, Mary Nightingale hosted edited highlights across a range of categories and crowned drp (Event Agency of the Year), Media Zoo (Production Agency of the Year), Pure Events (Challenger Event Agency of the Year) and A-vision (Challenger Production Agency of the Year). Edcoms picked up the coveted Grand Prix award for most awarded projects across the three qualifying schemes.
EVCOM Chairman, Andrew Winterburn, commented: “We are thrilled with the support we have had from members for this new scheme. We will continue to improve the scheme and find innovative ways to showcase the winning projects. The quality of the work needs to be seen and shared. It is testament to the vibrancy and creative talent of the live and visual communications communities that make up the EVCOM membership.”
As part of a new initiative winning entries from the film and screen categories will now be saved in the British Film Institute archives as part of the BFI permanent collection.
