Following a competitive tender process, the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) has appointed Identity to deliver the 47th G7 Summit in Cornwall. The three-day world summit, where Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, leaders of G7 nations, the EU and guest countries will attend, takes place in Carbis Bay, Cornwall on June 11-13.
Michael Gietzen, managing director of Identity, said of the contract win: “This will be the largest multilateral summit that the UK will host following its departure from the EU and, indeed, the UK’s first international in-person event since the pandemic lock-down.”
A crucial element of the delivery is sustainability and support to local suppliers, with Identity and the Government working together to engage local firms as much as possible in the delivery of the summit.
Janet Dodd, director of live events at Identity, said: “We are honoured to have been chosen and trusted to deliver this very important and prestigious event. Once again Identity will be able to showcase its expertise in the smooth execution of a major, high-profile international event.
“From a delivery aspect, we will apply our best-in-class experience of working with world leaders and, at the same time showcase the very best of Cornwall.“
Identity is an events agency that has experienced extraordinary success over the last decade – this year it ranked 25th place in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table of the fastest-growing companies in the UK.
