The new agreement will see the company’s Event IT team deployed to create an IT infrastructure that will provide even more facilities in 2020 and plans for cutting edge technology within the festival from 2021 and beyond as the festival continues to grow in popularity.
Hay Festival now in it’s 33rd year, is an annual literature festival held in Hay-on-Wye, Powys, Wales, for ten days from May to June.
Joe Fletcher, technical director at Hay Festival, said: “Hay Festival are extremely happy to be have started a relationship with SimpliWifi for IT, Wi-Fi and network support at the festival site for the next three years.
“SimpliWifi shone through during a tender process and had the experience and drive to support all elements at Hay Festival in Hay-On-Wye. This includes site wide Wi-Fi infrastructure to service up to 15,000 members of the public at any given time, live venue support, box office, book shop, traders and caterers.
“SimpliWifi are also working closely with the vision teams to ensure quick and stable links to our media partner, the BBC, and for upload of all film and audio capture to Hay Player daily. ”
