A petition, calling on Government to offer economic assistance to the events industry during COVID-19, which received 153,215 signatures is to be debated in the House of Commons on June 25 (Thursday).

The Petitions Committee, which is the group of MPs who oversee the petitions system, has agreed to schedule a debate on petitions calling for support for UK industries in response to COVID-19.

The debate is expected to take place in the morning, at any time from 9.30am onwards. The start time of the debate will depend on other parliamentary business, but events professionals can follow the Petitions Committee on Twitter @HoCpetitions, where updates on when the debate is expected to start will be posted.

Eventprofs can watch the live debate here.

A transcript of the debate will be published here the following day.
