BBC Radio 2 has announced that it will host a “Festival in a Day” in Hyde Park.

Status Quo, Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall, Paloma Faith and Jessie J will take to the stage on Sunday, September 9.

Last year, over 25,000 music fans packed into Hyde Park for Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park, a star-studded concert featuring live performances from Gary Barlow, Lenny Kravitz and Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

Jeff Smith, head of music, Radio 2 and 6 Music, said: “Music is at the heart of Radio 2’s output, and with more incredible artists to be announced in the coming weeks, there will be something for everyone at this year’s Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park. What better way to end the summer than with a truly British celebration of music.”
