Info: The OYSTERS is a collective of 26 international tourist boards and convention bureaus with offices and/or focus on the UK market. Under the banner of the OYSTERS they work together on a number of joint opportunities.

There is a designated event committee, elected from within the membership, supported by an executive consultant, whose combined remit is to decide and manage the delivery of the events by a third party.

Now in its 10th year, the annual event brings together approximately 16 of the OYSTER National Tourist Boards and Regional Convention Bureaus in promoting their destinations to organisers of international business events based in the UK. It is a business to business networking event.

The event has historically had a strong social element and been known as the OYSTERS Summer Party. For the last three years it was run in concurrence with The Meetings Show. Approximately 180-200 visitors attended in previous years and venues chosen which should be indicative of the type of venue wanted have included Quaglinos, District and The Roof Gardens.

The events committee has decided that for 2016 the event needs to have more of an educational focus. It is believed that with a designated theme for the education element that more of the right buyers will attend and more of the Oysters will participate.

The OYSTERS event committee is seeking a suitable company to deliver the OYSTERS annual event 2016.
