For the 11th year, De Boer has provided its Pink Galaxy structure for The MoonWalk London, an annual fundraising event for breast cancer charity, Walk the Walk.

MoonWalkers power-walked a sponsored full or half marathon wearing their trademark, highly decorated bras to raise awareness and vital funds for breast cancer research and treatment. De Boer’s bespoke ‘circus’ tent structure provided more than 13,000 square metres of space on Clapham Common, where the challenge started and finished.

Nina Barough CBE, founder and chief executive of Walk the Walk, said: “Every year it is just thrilling to see the sheer scale and size of this magnificent Pink Galaxy rising out of Clapham Common. Everybody loves this structure and as our theme this year was of course The Roaring Twenties, it was the perfect ‘Pink Palace’ for all our MoonWalkers wearing their glorious decorated bras, to gather and unite against breast cancer.

“Walk the Walk have worked with De Boer for so many years and have a wonderful working relationship. Their professionalism is exceptional and a great support in organising an event of this scale.”

De Boer also supplied ancillary structures – Alu Halls were used for the kitchen, hospital, volunteer facilities and baggage areas; Acropolis tents were provided for guests and press; Pyramid tents housed the WalkWear and guest storage; and the helpdesk area was situated in a cocktail tent.

Peter Spruce, managing director at De Boer, commented: “Celebrating The MoonWalk London’s 20th anniversary was very special, and every year we feel honoured to help deliver an event which has such a worthy cause.

“Our team worked exceptionally well, building the whole site in just six days, and dismantling it in four days.”
