After a relaxing Easter break, the events industry has spent this week shouting about all types of exciting news.
For starters, Live Nation is under investigation for its takeover bid of the Isle of Wight Festival. The Competition and Markets Authority launched the investigation to examine the completed acquisition of LN-Gaiety Holding (Live Nation) of Isle of Wight Festival. The authorities are checking whether the deal caused a “substantial lessening of competition”.
The news of business deals continues, as it was also announced this week that the brand and experiential agency, PinPointer, is acquiring the experiential and live agency, Maynineteen. Alison Bowcott-McGrath, Pinpointer founder, said: “I’ve long admired the theatre and excitement Maynineteen has brought to UK to shopping malls and I’m looking forward to working with its talented team.”
Lastly, Multiplay Events, the UK events gaming company, has announced the launch of Multiplay Rentals, the rental arm to Multiplay Events. The company now offers the full range of services to facilitate large-scale events from hardware rental and event logistics to broadcast solutions and complete event management.
