As the events industry gears up for another season to begin, I sense that a lot of event organisers are glad of the calm before the storm.

Of course, we’ve still had our ears pressed firmly to the ground and as a result, there’s still much to report.

Our editor and publication manager enjoyed a magical Wednesday night at The BRITS, where they were privy to top performances from Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran and Stormzy, as well as witnessing all the hard work and fantastic operations that go into making such a large live event happen. The next day, AEG announced that its partnership with O2 was renewed for a further 10 years, meaning The O2 will keep its naming rights partner.

Moreover, ESI Media unveiled its month-long, city-wide event – London Evening Standard Food Month – which aims to celebrate the capital’s diverse food scene. The food writers, Grace Dent and Tom Parker Bowles, take on their roles as creative directors of the festival, and will curate a programme that will see hundreds of events take place throughout the capital during the months of June.

Furthermore, BBC Radio 6 Music has revealed that 6 Music Festival 2017 will be taking place in Glasgow this year from March 24-26, 2017.

Lastly, the VIP industry networking event, Event Buyers Live, has released the 2017 event pictures and video online, which can be viewed here. It’s definitely worth taking a look!

Until next week,
