Arena UK and Europe’s specialist mass participation staff supported the Cancer Research UK Race for Life in Hyde Park.

Thousands of female runners and walkers, including many celebrities, took part in the event, which featured 5k and 10k races. With more than 5,000 competitors, it’s the biggest Race for Life event in the UK.

Arena’s crew supplied key elements of the event’s infrastructure including the Bronze stage and gantry, Silver gantry, three clocks to keep competitors informed on their progress and a reflection area where runners could pose for photographs to thank the people who had sponsored them.

Three market stalls – one for the 10k water station – a 10k tall sign and 600 barriers to divide up the site and section off the race course were also delivered.

Nick Wright, Cancer Research UK’s equipment and suppliers manager, said: “We are delighted to have the Arena Group as one of our major suppliers of event infrastructure, their crews across the UK supply over 250 of our events each year and go over and above to help us put on the best events possible, we see the Arena Group very much as a partner and an extension of our events team which is the best accolade I can bestow upon them.”

Steve Shaw, general manager at Arena Group AES, said: “It’s a privilege to once again work on the Cancer Research UK Race for Life events, delivering our specialist kit and logistically precise installations throughout the busy streets of the capital.”
